Shako Camp

Shako Camp has official ended! We're so excited to have started the year off on a great note! New girls were extremely fast learners, and picked up everything they need to learn and more. We had our very first performance on Friday at the Red Hawks Traditions LLC Kick-Off. A video of the event can be found at Swoops Offical Facebook Page. We also took our first 2011-2012 team picture which you can see below! And since working together for the 50 hours during the week wasn't enough shako bonding, the team had a night out on the town and was able to bust a move on the dance floor. Hope everyone else had an exciting week! Good luck to everyone with classes on Monday.

Love, The Shakerettes

(P.S. We aren't sweaty or anything, right...?)

Getting Ready for the Kick Off of a New Season

With less than two weeks to go before returning to Oxford for camp, we can't help but get excited for this coming season! A new team of 13 talented and skilled dancers, a championship-winning football team to cheer for, along with the addition of a little trip to NEW YORK for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will surely make this season one to remember! With all the husle bustle, this season is going to fly by, but we will make the most of every moment. Whether it be dancing in the fountains during bandcamp, having a shako bonding night, or enjoying the first home cooked meal we've had in weeks before a football game, the memory will remain with us forever. We look forward to seeing you out in the football stands cheering on your team to another victory! Let's have a great 2011-2012 season.

Shakerettes perform at OSU

We had a wonderful time being able to perform in the Ohio Stadium cheering our Redhawks along! Even though the Redhawks played their toughest, we ended up in a defeat with a score of 56-10. We were playing strong in the first quarter, but lost some steam in the following quarters. Despite the loss, we had a great time performing in front of a huge audience, and gave the Ohio State fans a glimpse of "A Night Uptown" at Miami through our halftime show.
